Release notes
Release date:
Release version: 3.0.9768.581
Enhancements and New Features
Error rule names can now be included in failed-document emails
Internal ID: LINKOB-424
Problem
Email notifications for failed documents could not include the name of the error rule that was triggered, making it harder for recipients to immediately understand the reason for a failure.
Solution
A new email-template macro makes it possible to include the triggered error rule name in notifications for failed documents.
Inbox/Outbox API v3 supports larger payloads
Internal ID: LINKOB-452
Problem
The previous Inbox/Outbox API had limitations when transferring large files, requiring special handling for payloads approaching the existing size limit.
Solution
Inbox/Outbox API v3 introduces support for sending and receiving larger payloads. The new API separates payload transfer from relevant metadata where needed, allowing large file content to be handled more efficiently.
MCP server support in Link
Internal ID: LINKOB-581
Problem
The use of AI agents to automate work across business systems is increasing. To support this, customers need a standard way for AI agents to interact with Link and perform actions as part of broader automated workflows.
Solution
Link can now expose functionality through the Model Context Protocol (MCP), allowing AI agents to operate Link through a standardised interface. This makes it easier to include Link in AI-driven workflows that span multiple systems by supporting MCP servers as configurable artifacts. MCP servers can expose tools through dedicated endpoints, use Link security and user groups for access control, and be managed from a dedicated MCP menu. A health endpoint is also available for status checks.
The MCP feature is in preview, and minor changes to the artifact interfaces may occur.
